Quote:[http://www.ironmanmagazine.com/blogs/lonnie/?p=1803 Greene to Defend ASC Crown Against ”Best Ever” Field]When Jim Lorimer, who co-promotes the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic with The Governator each March, told me last week ”this field is as strong as any we’ve had,” he wasn’t just blowing smoke up Santa’s chimney.
When is the last time anyone can recall that the defending champion in Columbus was NOT the favorite going into the following year? That’s exactly the case for the 2010 bash, set for March 7 at Vets Memorial Auditorium in Columbus, Ohio.
[img=http://contests.ironmanmagazine.com/~photos/860/Men/860rb1772.jpg]Unless, of course, you consider Kai Greene, the ’09 champion, as your definite choice over Dexter Jackson, Branch Warren and Phil Heath, that is. Not that the amazing Kai can’t win back-to-back titles; if the 5’8”, 245-pounder looks as good as he did last season when he dominated the show, he certainly has a SHOT to repeat. But, even if that transpires, it’s not a done deal.

Yes, Mr. Lorimer, this should be a Jim dandy. I won’t be making my predictions until closer to the show, but if any of the readers are willing to put their choices on paper, please feel free to send them along. Dare you.

Quote:”I will take a break to put on the size I need to put on,” Samuel said. ”I wanted to do the Arnold Classic, but after more thought I do not believe that competing so soon after the Olympia is in my best interest. In order to make the impact I want to make, I want to make some improvements this year.”Samuel said that his disappointing 13th-place finish at the 2009 Olympia played a part in his decision.
”The Olympia was not the result I would have liked,” he said. ”It’s painful when you do not place where you hope. I do not blame anybody, but I was not happy with where I finished. I will take the time to improve and make sure I am better the next time I compete at the Olympia.”

30 december, 2009 at 04:57 #348478Anonym anvandareMemberI mitten av november månad bekräftades det på FLEXOnline.com även att Dexter Jackson och Phil Heath var inbjudna till Arnold Classic:
Quote:[http://www.flexonline.com/dexter_jackson_arnold_classic/news/1058 Dexter Jackson to compete in the Arnold Classic]Quote:It’s been two months since his disappointing — and surprising — third-place finish at the 2009 Olympia. Now, Dexter Jackson is ready to defend another title — the Arnold Classic.”I’m still looking at this as if I’m the defending champion,” Jackson said. ”Kai (Greene) won last year, but I didn’t lose it. Somebody else had to be the winner, and I was very happy for Kai. But as far as I’m concerned, it’s still my title.”
Jackson won his third Arnold Classic in 2008, in what many believed to be his best-ever showing until that time. In 2010, he will look to tie Flex Wheeler’s Arnold Classic record of four wins.
[http://www.flexonline.com/phil_heath_arnold_classic/news/1060 Phil Heath will compete in the 2010 Arnold Classic]
Quote:Phil Heath is going to Columbus, announcing in a text message today that he will compete in the 2010 Arnold Classic. The message read:”I’m in.”
When pressed for further comment, the usually talkative Heath declined to talk about the past, or much more about the future.
”Not much more to say,” Heath said. ”I’ll do my talking when I step on stage in Columbus.”
