IFBBs nyhetsbrev avslöjas ett förslag på ort och datum, första helgen i maj i Novi Sad, Serbien.

The tentative date for this event is the first weekend of May.
More information and final confirmation of final date and venue site will follow soon.

Quote:Good news for masters classic bodybuilders! They will have their separate open category at the European Men’s and Mixed Pairs Championships. The first opportunity in Novi Sad, Serbia, in May, so they have nearly 4 months to be in top shape. The age limit – as for other masters: over 40 years of age (from January 1st of the year in which the athlete reaches his 40th birthday).The height/weight limits will be the same as for seniors. They will have to pay for the special package as it is obligatory for all masters in the IFBB. This decision has been made at the recent EBFF Executive Council meeting in Madrid in response to many requests from the worldwide bodybuilding family. EBFF expects growing popularity of this new category, which can be divided into more sub-classes in the future.
Why not at the European Juniors and Masters Championships? Because EBFF doesn’t want to increase the number of categories at these championships (currently 18 categories!).

Quote:Now we know: the 2009 European Men’s and Mixed Pairs Bodybuilding Championships will be held in Novi Sad, Serbia. The final decision was made at the recent EBFF Executive Council meeting in Madrid, following the Inspection Report delivered by the EBFF Vice-President Pawel Filleborn after his visit to Novi Sad in the first half of January. During his visit, Mr. Filleborn met the officials of the Serbian Bodybuilding Federation, the Regional Bodybuilding Federation, the Regional Government of the Vojvodina Province and the City Council.Novi Sad is Serbia’s second largest city, after Belgrade, with around 300,000 inhabitants. The city is located on the banks of the Danube River and is a large industrial and financial centre of Serbia.
According to Mr. Filleborn, the venue site and the hotel meet the IFBB standards, so we can expect to have a good championships there.
